Sixth Wednesday in Ordinary Time

Daily Reflection

Sixth Wednesday in Ordinary Time

Lord, help me to see.

From today’s Scripture: “Looking up the man replied, ‘I see people looking like trees and walking.’”—Mk 8:24

When I read the story of Jesus healing the blind man, I am reminded that healing can be a gradual experience. After the first laying of hands and placing spittle on the man”s eyes he could see a little, but not clearly. It was the second time that he could see clearly.

Healings (physical and spiritual) have mostly been gradual in my life. On occasions I ask the Lord if he is listening. Yes, the Lord listens. The healing in me often needs time. I need to live, to experience the continual working of the Lord in my life. There is more to celebrate when we are patient and allow the Lord to heal us in the Lord’s time.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, you continue to work in my life. I need your grace to be patient and allow your healing to take place in me.
