Wish to be great.

From today’s Scripture: “’The greatest among you must be your servant.’”—Mt 23:11
There is nothing wrong with the desire to be great. As a matter of fact, each of us should aim to be the greatest and most gifted human being possible! It reflects the image of God, in which we are made. To do so, we need to have Mary and Jesus as our models of greatness.
Jesus suffered the cross as he served us all. Mary was at the foot of the cross, suffering from every drop of blood shed by her innocent son. If you wish to be great, then give unconditional service at every opportunity. Do not fear the cost in suffering, for it is the way of following our savior.
Let us pray: Dear Lord, may I be a great humble servant. Grant me opportunities to help others in words and deeds. Shed my selfishness and my desire for praise so I may serve others, even at the cost of my own suffering.
