Surrender to God.
From today’s Scripture: “…but for God all things are possible.”—Mt 19:26
Sometimes we may feel as if our moral life is better than those around us. We might even feel some pride. Then in prayer Jesus says, “Just wait a minute. If you think you are so good, follow me even more closely, and give up this…”
The “this” is usually something we know we should give up, but we really do not want to and so we walk away sad. Yet, if we surrender to God, all things are possible. We can do so much more than we think, if we let God do it with us! We can even become saints!
Let us pray: Dear Lord, may I be willing to surrender anything you ask, so I may follow you closer and closer.
