St. Charles Borromeo

Get on track.

From today’s Scripture: “‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’”—Lk 15:9

St. Charles Borromeo, along with St. Ignatius Loyola and St. Philip Neri, were instrumental in reforming the Church in the wake of the Protestant Reformation. Truly, Roman Catholicism had slipped off the track in many ways. These were holy men, self-sacrificial in ways whose effects persists these centuries later.

The Church sees all three as saints, surely in heaven. Like the woman in Jesus’ parable today, they focused all of their attention chasing after what was lost. We each are challenged to such determination to make things right!

Let us pray: God of righteousness, help me to know what is right and just in everything I encounter today. Give me the determination to work for the good.
