Soothing an anxious heart

From today’s Scripture:Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved.”Phil 4:1

I have a news app on my phone and receive alerts a few times a day about things happening throughout the world. It can be a bit defeating to hear more bad news than good. In these moments, I close my eyes and say a quick prayer. God always soothes my anxious heart with His reminder that he is in control. He will triumph over all sin, evil and hardships in this world and fill our hearts with peace.

God didn’t intend for us to handle these difficulties alone. As one Christian community, let’s conduct ourselves in the way of the cross, and stand firm to God’s teachings so we can be models of peace in the world.

Let us pray: Remind me always to trust in you, during good times and difficult times. Thank you for the peace you create in my heart!
