St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Sharing the saving power of God

From today’s Scripture: All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.” Ps 98

How do we see the saving power of God? So often we recognize it through the love and actions of God’s people—inspired by the Gospel message. Today the Church remembers St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first American-born saint and foundress of the Sisters of Charity. While she accomplished much in her 47 years on this earth, it would be hard to calculate the good she inspired through the thousands of women who have continued her ministry in the 200 years since her death—a number of whom have collaborated with Glenmary in our apostolate.

While the Church may never canonize us, we share the same mission of all the saints:  sharing the saving power of God to the ends of the earth.

Let us pray: Lord, as I strive to see you in others, may they see your goodness through me.
