A loving and faithful father
From today’s Scripture: “Where did this man get such wisdom…?” —Mt 13:54
Men, especially fathers, often forget how much influence they have on their children, for good or for ill. It is often said that if the father of a family is a man of faith, their children will be as well. Of course, we know that no family is perfect, and many struggle with faith. But the example of a loving and faithful father is priceless.
We celebrate today the feast of St. Joseph the Worker. Joseph provided an example to Jesus of faithfulness, hard work, loving care, and so much more. We can truly say that Joseph played an essential role in Jesus’ life, and in God’s plan of salvation.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, inspire all fathers to imitate the example of St. Joseph, who cared for Jesus, provided an example for Jesus, and continues to inspire faith in all people today. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Amen.
