Lily of the Mohawks

From today’s Scripture: He answered, “I will be with you; and this shall be your proof that it is I who have sent you.”—Ex 3:12
At age 18, St. Kateri secretly learned about Catholicism, in opposition to her uncle and many fellow Native Americans, including her family. After pleading to her uncle, she got consent to become a Christian. Saint Kateri was often scorned, neglected, and mocked. Two years later, she escaped persecution. She became known for her offered suffering, seeking dignity for all people through simple actions.
Saint Kateri is an inspiration to me. God does call us to make difficult decisions daily, but he will always be with us to guide us on our path to pure joy and holiness.
Let us pray: Lord, sometimes you ask much of me. Remind me to lean on you always, to take up my cross and experience all that you have in store for me.
