St. Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr

The greatest dividend

From today’s Scripture: “He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully.”—2 Cor 9:6

People with lots of money to invest are able to increase their wealth by smart investing. Those who live from hand to mouth seldom have any money left over to invest so they can never get ahead.

Jesus offers us a share in his risen life. We can receive it gratefully and look for ways constantly to share it bountifully with others and our relationship with Jesus grows in the process. Or we can be distracted by many things and end up sharing this greatest of gifts sparingly.

Each one gets to decide what he or she will do.

Let us pray: Lord, you have been unbelievably generous to me. Create in me a generous spirit.
