Reflection and Action

From today’s Scripture: “[W]hoever believes in me will do the works that I do.”—Jn 14:12
Vatican II famously called us to “read the signs of the times” and to act accordingly. The best contemporary example of this reflection-action interplay is Pope Francis’s continual exhortation to the world to think about, and care for, God’s creation. As he passionately details in his 2015 encyclical Laudato Si, every one of us can do something to stem climate change and environmental degradation. Today, let us all care for God’s work of creation.
Let us pray: Lord, help me to better care for your creation, believing that small acts do add up.
