“Food and Faith”

From today’s Scripture: “Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life which the Son of Man will give you.” —Jn 6:27
We gather for food and for sharing faith in the risen Lord! Food and faith somehow are so deeply connected. Many of us learned that during the pandemic, when we were not always been able to gather for the bread of life in the Eucharist, and for community celebrations and sharing.
The crowds were looking for Jesus. They wanted to be fed. We too are hungry for the food that endures for eternal life. We find that for sure in the Eucharist but also in the communion of brothers and sisters in our parishes.
Let us pray: Jesus, Bread of Life, feed us with your word, with your body and blood, with your beloved community. Let us be your presence in our world today.
