A message of love

From today’s Scripture: “Amen, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place.”—Lk 4:24
Jesus goes home to Nazareth, but his old neighbors have a hard time accepting him. They still remember him as a child growing up, nothing special about him. Now he comes to the temple and challenges them. What angers most of the locals who feel that they are God’s chosen people is that God in the Old Testament reached out to non-Jews. He healed the widow in Zarephath; he cleansed Naaman, the Syrian. The locals became angry when they were reminded that their God would also show love to others. Jesus came to show us that his message of love is for all. How do our lives reflect this great message?
Let us pray: Lord, you give us another day of life. May we use this day to give you honor and glory as we serve our brothers and sisters.
