Third Saturday in Ordinary Time

Peace of mind

From today’s Scripture: He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ The wind ceased and there was great calm.”Mk 4:39

How often are we bogged down in our own worries? The internal dialogue in our minds can become so loud, it’s like a violent and unpredictable storm. But, much like the wizard behind the scenes in “The Wizard of Oz,” all is not as it seems.

The storm actually begins as a whisper and can easily be quieted. Through Jesus’ intercession, we are able to take command of the internal storms of our lives and bring quiet and peace to our minds and hearts.

Let us pray: Dear God, bring peace to my mind and heart during my times of greatest worry. Help me to keep my focus on you and the power you have to work miracles in my life and the lives of others during our most difficult times.
