Third Saturday of Lent

Are you humble enough?

From today’s Scripture: “O God, be merciful to me a sinner.”—Lk 18:13

Jesus is looking for humble followers who know they need healing and forgiveness. In today’s Gospel, the prideful Pharisee felt he was the best, not in need of forgiveness, not in need of God. On the other hand, the tax collector knew that he was sinful and so much wanted to be healed of his sinfulness. What a grace moment for the tax collector. He left knowing of Jesus’ loving forgiveness. Being humble made him a winner. Lent is a great time to go to confession. Let the grace of this great sacrament heal you. Are you humble enough?

Let us pray: Lord, you have given us everything. One of the greatest gifts is your loving forgiveness. We celebrate this great act by forgiving ourselves so that in turn we may forgive others
