Ways to live and love

From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.’”—Mt 5:17
Jesus came to continue the message of his father, but also to give us a way that enables us to live the life of a disciple. Throughout Jesus’ ministry, he shows us eye-opening ways to live and to love. Sometimes the disciples of Jesus, like us, did not understand. The message to love those who many felt were unloveable was, and still is, a challenge. We are called to see those on the outside of society as our brothers and sisters. Can we? Make it a Lenten challenge.
Let us pray: Lord, you gave us the challenge of the new commandment to love. Sometimes it is only by your grace that this is possible. May your grace fill us.
