Daily Reflection

Trinity Sunday

The mission isn’t over.

From today’s Scripture: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”—Mt 28:16-20

The “Great Commission,” as this passage of Scripture is known, is one of the most famous in the Bible. And yet among Christians it is sometimes the most forgotten. The final command of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew was a daunting one. Convert the world to Jesus. That mission isn’t over.

Sharing our faith with others takes courage and vulnerability. It can be hard, but following Jesus’ final command, he added one more note. “Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” We can do this, not on our own, but because Jesus is with us even now.

Let us pray: Jesus, help me be a witness to all I meet of the joys of Christian life, thereby encouraging others to grow closer to you.
